Privacy Policy

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how GagarinSoft handles personal information in connection with the corporate website at gagarinsoft.com, including the contact form on the home page. GagarinSoft is the controller responsible for that information and decides why and how it is processed.

GagarinSoft also publishes desktop applications. Those applications have their own privacy policies, published on their own product pages, because they process data on your PC rather than on this website. This policy does not describe them.

What the Contact Form Collects

The contact form is the only feature of this website that sends information to a server. When you press Send message, the following fields are transmitted:

The form also contains a hidden anti-spam field, sometimes called a honeypot. It is invisible to people and is meant to be completed only by automated bots. A submission that fills it in is rejected as spam before it reaches us, which keeps junk submissions — and any personal data inside them — out of our records.

As with any web request, the submission itself carries standard technical information such as your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the time of submission. The form service may record part of that information alongside your message.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, health information, government identifiers, or other sensitive data through this form. If a project requires information of that kind, we will agree on a secure channel with you first.

Who Processes the Form

This website is hosted on Netlify, and the contact form uses Netlify's built-in form handling. Netlify, Inc. acts as our processor: it receives your submission, stores it in the form dashboard of our Netlify account, and sends a notification containing the same content to GagarinSoft. Netlify processes the submission on our instructions and for our purposes only.

The notification is delivered to gagarinsoft@gmail.com, a mailbox operated by Google. Google therefore processes the content of your message as our email provider, and a copy of the message stays in that mailbox until it is deleted.

Netlify and Google are based in the United States, so if you write to us from another country your submission is transferred internationally and stored on servers there. Both providers process data under their own terms — see the Netlify Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy. Apart from these two providers, no one else receives the content of your message.

Why We Use It

We use your name, email address, and message for one purpose: to read your inquiry and answer it, and to continue that conversation if it turns into a project discussion. That is the whole purpose — there is no secondary use.

Where the GDPR or a comparable law applies, our legal basis is your consent, given when you choose to submit the form, together with the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. You can withdraw consent at any time by asking us to delete your message; withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.

How Long We Keep It

We keep an inquiry for up to 24 months after the last message in the exchange, and then delete it from the Netlify form dashboard and from the mailbox. Keeping it for that period lets us pick up an earlier conversation and recognise a returning contact.

If an inquiry leads to a contract, the related correspondence is kept for as long as the business relationship lasts and for any period that accounting or other legal record-keeping obligations require. Submissions rejected by the anti-spam field are discarded by Netlify and are not stored in the form dashboard at all.

Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking

gagarinsoft.com does not set cookies of its own, does not use browser storage to recognise you, and does not load any analytics, advertising, session-recording, heat-map, or social-media tracking script. We checked the pages of this site rather than assuming: the only script on the home page is a few lines of inline JavaScript that open and close the mobile navigation menu.

Stylesheets, the icon set, and web fonts are served from gagarinsoft.com itself, so opening the site does not send a request to a third-party CDN, font service, or tag manager. There is no embedded video, map, chat widget, or social button.

Ownership of the site is verified with search engines through static verification files placed in the site's root directory. Those files are read by search-engine crawlers and collect nothing about visitors.

Because the site uses no cookies and no trackers, it shows no cookie banner and there is nothing for you to consent to or opt out of. If that ever changes, we will describe the change on this page first.

Server Logs and Hosting

Like any website, gagarinsoft.com is delivered by a hosting and content-delivery provider whose servers necessarily receive standard request information: your IP address, the requested URL, the referring page, your user agent, and the time of the request. This happens for every request, including requests that never touch the contact form.

That information is generated and retained by the hosting provider under its own policy and is used to deliver the site, keep it available and secure, and diagnose faults. GagarinSoft sees it only to the extent the provider makes it available, and uses it only to operate and protect the website or to comply with law. We do not combine it with contact-form data to identify individual visitors.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, so the form submission is encrypted in transit. Stored submissions live in the Netlify form dashboard and in the GagarinSoft mailbox; access to both is limited to GagarinSoft and protected by the account security controls those providers offer.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Netlify, Google, and any network provider between you and this site determine their own safeguards and retention periods under their own policies, and GagarinSoft cannot delete data held independently by them.

Your Rights and Requests

Where applicable law gives you rights over personal information held by GagarinSoft, you may ask us to act on any of the following:

To make a request, write to gagarinsoft@gmail.com, preferably from the address you used in the form. This website has no user accounts, so the email address in your submission is normally the only way we can locate your data; if we cannot match a request to a submission, we may ask one limited follow-up question to confirm that the message is yours, and we will not use that answer for anything else.

Requests are free of charge and we answer them without undue delay, within the period required by applicable law — one month under the GDPR, extendable where the law allows and where we tell you why. Requests about data held independently by Netlify or Google must be addressed to that provider.

Children

gagarinsoft.com is a business website intended for professional and commercial contacts. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us a message through the contact form, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the website's data practices or the applicable legal requirements change — for example, if we ever add analytics, a new form, or a different form provider. The current version and its effective date always remain available on this page.

Changes that materially affect information you have already submitted will be described here before they take effect, and we will not start using existing contact-form data for a new and incompatible purpose without a fresh legal basis.
