Privacy Policy
How CallReady handles camera, microphone, device, diagnostic, and network-test data.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how GagarinSoft handles information when you use CallReady for Windows and when you visit CallReady pages on gagarinsoft.com. The app and website have different data flows, which are described separately.
Camera, Face, and Lighting Checks
CallReady opens your selected camera only while the check window is open. Frames are held temporarily in memory to show the live preview, determine whether a face is visible, and evaluate lighting around the primary face.
- Camera frames are not written to disk or uploaded.
- Face detection checks presence; it does not identify a person.
- No face template, signature, embedding, or biometric identity profile is created or stored.
- The camera is released when the check window closes.
Microphone and Speaker Checks
CallReady opens your selected microphone only while the check window is open. Audio samples are converted locally into signal-level readings and immediately discarded. The app does not save recordings, upload audio, recognize speech, or create transcripts. The microphone is released when the check window closes.
The speaker check reads Windows audio-endpoint information and may play a test tone when you request it. CallReady does not listen to speaker output.
Connection-Quality Test
When a connection check runs, CallReady makes capped HTTP requests to Cloudflare's public speed-test endpoints to estimate connectivity, latency, jitter, and throughput. The upload measurement uses a generated zero-filled payload. Camera images, audio samples, files, and app settings are never included in those requests.
Like any Internet request, the test exposes your public IP address and request timing to Cloudflare. Cloudflare states that its Speed Test uses the IP address to estimate city, country, and network (ASN), truncates the address for measurement data, and handles it under its Speed Test disclosure and Privacy Policy. Cloudflare is an independent service provider; its practices are governed by its own terms and policies.
Information Stored on Your PC
CallReady stores the following files in its Windows app-local folder so it can remember your choices, identify device changes, and troubleshoot errors:
- settings.json: theme, language, start-with-Windows state, and Screen Light brightness.
- devices.json: Windows device identifiers and friendly names for the camera, microphone, and speakers from the last successful check.
- Logs/callready.log: check activity, timing, device names, errors, and Windows error codes. The log is capped at 512 KB, with up to two older copies retained.
These files do not contain camera frames, recorded audio, speech transcripts, or content you type. They stay on your PC and are not sent to GagarinSoft. You can delete logs at any time; uninstalling or resetting the app removes app-local data subject to Windows behavior.
What the App Does Not Include
- No CallReady account, cloud backend, advertising, or ad identifier.
- No in-app analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- No cloud AI, speech recognition, transcription, screen recording, or screen sharing.
- No analysis of identity, emotion, age, gender, ethnicity, attractiveness, or other personal attributes.
- No access to contacts, calendars, documents, browsing history, or file contents.
Permissions and Your Choices
Camera access supports preview, face-presence, and lighting checks; microphone access supports the local level meter; Internet client access supports the connection test. If you deny camera or microphone permission, CallReady continues to run but cannot complete that check. You can manage permissions in Windows, delete local logs, reset app data, or uninstall the app. CallReady does not require administrator rights.
Microsoft Store
Microsoft may process purchase, license, installation, update, device, crash, and Store-usage information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. That processing is performed by Microsoft under its own terms. It does not give GagarinSoft access to your camera frames, audio samples, local settings, or CallReady diagnostic logs.
Website Analytics
CallReady pages on gagarinsoft.com use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic and improve the site. Google may process browser, device, approximate-location, referral, and interaction information under the Google Privacy Policy. Website analytics are separate from the CallReady app and cannot access app-local camera, microphone, device, or log data.
Children
CallReady is a general-purpose meeting utility and is not directed to children. It does not create user accounts or profiles. If a child uses the connection test, Cloudflare processes the limited network information described above.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when CallReady's data practices or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page. Materially different app data collection will be described here before or when the relevant version is made available.
