The licence and conditions that apply when you download or use Typeahead.
1. Agreement and Store Terms
These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and GagarinSoft, the publisher of Typeahead identified in Microsoft Store. They apply to Typeahead and its updates or supplements unless different terms accompany a particular update.
Your acquisition and use of the app are also subject to the applicable Microsoft Store terms, usage rules, account requirements, billing rules, and mandatory consumer protections. If a provision of these Terms conflicts with a non-waivable law or a controlling Microsoft Store rule, that law or rule controls to the extent of the conflict.
2. Limited License
Subject to these Terms, the payment or trial conditions shown in Microsoft Store, and applicable Store rules, GagarinSoft grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Typeahead on Windows devices linked to your Store account for lawful personal or internal business purposes.
Typeahead is licensed, not sold. GagarinSoft and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. You may not sell, sublicense, rent, lease, redistribute, remove proprietary notices, bypass technical restrictions or licensing controls, or reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except to the extent applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits it.
3. What Typeahead Does — and Does Not Guarantee
Typeahead offers optional text completions next to your caret in supported Windows applications, generated on your own device from a local language model, your snippets, previously accepted phrases, and bundled word tables. Whether a suggestion appears, how fast it appears, and how useful it is depend on your hardware, the selected model, Windows accessibility interfaces, and how the application you are typing in exposes its text.
- Suggestions are statistical text predictions. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate for the context, ungrammatical, or factually wrong, and they are not advice of any kind.
- Support for a given application, field, or input method is not guaranteed and may change when that application, Windows, or a driver is updated.
- Typeahead is not a spelling checker, grammar checker, translator, accessibility aid, medical, legal, financial, or professional service, and must not be relied on as one.
- Field protection — password fields, protected applications, and IME composition — is a best-effort safeguard that depends on signals reported by Windows and by the target application, and cannot be guaranteed in every case.
- Compatibility with a specific model size, GPU, or hardware configuration is not guaranteed.
You decide what to accept. Nothing is inserted into your text without your explicit accept action, and you remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and sending whatever you write, including any text you accepted from a suggestion.
4. Privacy, Local Data, and Your Responsibilities
How the app reads text around your caret, what it stores on your PC, and the only network connections it makes are described in the Typeahead Privacy Policy. You are responsible for using Typeahead in compliance with the laws, workplace policies, employer rules, and confidentiality obligations that apply to your device and to the content you write, and for keeping your own device, Windows account, and local Typeahead data secure. Do not use Typeahead to create unlawful content or in environments where installing input-monitoring software is prohibited.
5. Third-Party Components and Services
Typeahead contains open-source and Microsoft components, each governed by its own license, which may grant you additional rights. The complete inventory and license texts are included with the app.
Language models are downloaded from third-party repositories named in the app's model catalogue and are supplied under the licenses and terms of their respective publishers, which you are responsible for reviewing and complying with. Microsoft Store provides acquisition, licensing, billing, updates, and related services. GagarinSoft does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, terms, or privacy practices of third-party services or model publishers. Those services may change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue access without notice.
6. Trial, Purchase, and Refunds
Typeahead is offered as a one-time purchase through Microsoft Store, currently USD 9.99, with a 7-day free trial. The trial length, the price and currency actually shown to you, applicable taxes, accepted payment methods, regional availability, and any cancellation or refund rights are the terms displayed by Microsoft Store at the time of the transaction, and those terms prevail over any price or trial description on this website.
- The purchase is made in Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes the transaction and is the party you pay.
- Any refund is granted or denied exclusively by Microsoft, under the Microsoft Store refund policy and usage rules in force at the time of your purchase.
- GagarinSoft is not a party to the payment transaction, does not process, hold, or settle payments, and does not receive your payment details.
- GagarinSoft cannot issue, approve, deny, reverse, expedite, or otherwise influence a refund decision, and has no access to the Store order or billing record needed to do so.
- Refund requests must be submitted to Microsoft through your Microsoft account order history or Microsoft support.
Nothing on the Typeahead website, in these Terms, in the Privacy Policy, in the Microsoft Store listing text, or in any support correspondence creates a separate refund, money-back, satisfaction, trial-extension, or price-protection promise by GagarinSoft, and no statement by GagarinSoft may be read as one. The free trial is provided precisely so that you can evaluate Typeahead on your own hardware and in your own applications before you pay.
Mandatory consumer rights that you may have under applicable law, including any statutory right of withdrawal or remedy for a defective product, remain unaffected and are exercised against the seller identified in your Store transaction in accordance with that law.
7. Updates, Support, and Availability
GagarinSoft may provide updates, change or remove features, change model catalogue entries, change application or hardware compatibility, or discontinue all or part of Typeahead. Updates may be required for continued operation. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis at gagarinsoft@gmail.com, without a guaranteed response time, resolution, service level, maintenance period, or continued availability.
8. “AS IS” Warranty Disclaimer
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TYPEAHEAD, ITS SUGGESTIONS AND OUTPUT, DOCUMENTATION, UPDATES, AND SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, CONDITIONS, OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND.
GagarinSoft disclaims all express, implied, statutory, and collateral warranties and conditions, including merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, and that defects will be corrected. No oral or written information creates a warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions. In that case, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and your non-waivable statutory rights remain unaffected.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GAGARINSOFT AND ITS LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE; LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OPPORTUNITY, CONTRACTS, GOODWILL, REPUTATION, OR DATA; TEXT SENT, PUBLISHED, ALTERED, OR LOST AS A RESULT OF AN ACCEPTED OR REJECTED SUGGESTION; DEVICE, DRIVER, OR APPLICATION FAILURE; OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS MAY OCCUR.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GagarinSoft's total aggregate liability arising from or relating to Typeahead or these Terms will not exceed the amount you actually paid for Typeahead. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory consumer remedy.
10. Suspension and Termination
Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using and uninstall Typeahead. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and third-party notices — continue to apply. Store-level access may also depend on Microsoft account, payment, device, and usage rules.
11. General Terms
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining terms will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without GagarinSoft's consent; GagarinSoft may assign them in connection with a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the product or business, subject to applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the law that applies under mandatory conflict-of-law and consumer-protection rules. Nothing here deprives you of non-waivable rights or a forum available under the law of your place of residence.
12. Changes
GagarinSoft may update these Terms prospectively for legal, security, operational, or product changes. The effective date will be shown above. Where required by law, material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel and will not apply retroactively without a lawful basis.
