One keypress, instead of a whole sentence
Typeahead lives in the Windows system tray and finishes your sentences as you type — in WhatsApp, Chrome, Word, Outlook, and other Windows apps. Just press Tab to accept. Runs on a local AI model, fully offline and private, nothing you type ever leaves your PC.
“Time is money.” Benjamin Franklin
Time is the only currency you can’t save up — only spend. Every suggestion you accept is a sentence you never had to type. Minutes a day, hours a month — spent on the thought instead of the keystrokes.
Not your thoughts.
The Problem
You already know how the sentence ends before your fingers catch up. Phone keyboards guess the next word. Windows desktop apps mostly don't — you retype the same phrases, the same sign-offs, the same explanations, one keystroke at a time.
- Phone-style autocomplete only guesses single words, not phrases
- Cloud writing assistants read what you type on someone else's server
- Most tools work in one app — a browser tab or a document editor
- Desktop Windows has no system-wide phrase suggestions at all
The Solution
Typeahead watches the caret, not your clipboard. It runs a compact language model directly on your PC and quietly suggests how your sentence might continue — you keep typing, or press Tab and move on.
- Works system-wide, in almost any Windows desktop app
- Suggestions computed locally — nothing you type is sent anywhere
- Snippets and dictionary autocomplete work even without the model
- You control it: per-app toggle, custom accept key, protected fields
No gimmicks, no auto-generated paragraphs — just the next few words, offered when useful.
Works in almost every app
Messengers, browsers, mail, office, and editors — the suggestion appears next to the caret wherever you're typing, not in a separate window.
Tab, and the phrase is done
One keypress inserts the full suggestion. Keep typing and it's ignored — Typeahead never inserts anything without your say-so.
100% local and offline
Suggestions come from Qwen 3.5 running through llama.cpp on your machine. No account, no telemetry on what you write, no network requirement to work.
Pick your model size
Fast (~600 MB, default), balanced (~1.2 GB), or maximum quality (~2.5 GB) — choose the trade-off between speed and suggestion quality that fits your PC. Balanced needs 8 GB of system memory; maximum needs a discrete graphics card with 8 GB of its own memory and 16 GB of system memory.
Snippets & dictionary, no model needed
Custom snippets and word-level dictionary completion work immediately — even before you've downloaded a model.
You're in control
Change the accept key, turn Typeahead off per app, and rest easy — password managers and finance apps are protected by default.

- The only network traffic Typeahead makes is downloading the model and app updates
- No keystroke logging, ever — suggestions are generated and discarded in memory
- Password fields are always ignored, with no way to turn that protection off
- No account, no sign-in, no analytics on what you write
Between Slack, Teams, and email, the same fifteen phrases carry most of the day. Typeahead offers them back before the second word is finished.
The multilingual model suggests in whatever language you're actively typing, so switching between English and your native language doesn't slow you down.
On a train, on a flight, or just with Wi-Fi off — suggestions in Notepad or a notes app keep working exactly the same, because nothing needs a connection.
Answering the same kind of question for the twentieth time today, Typeahead recognizes the pattern and offers to finish the sentence for you.
- All future updates
- Every supported app, no feature gate
- Snippets and dictionary autocomplete included
