The license and conditions that apply when you download or use Notification Logger.
These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and GagarinSoft, the publisher of Notification Logger identified in Microsoft Store (Store ID 9MZF9DMHNH3P). They apply to Notification Logger and to its updates or supplements, unless different terms accompany a particular update.
Your acquisition and use of the app are also subject to the applicable Microsoft Store terms, usage rules, account requirements, billing rules, and mandatory consumer protections. If a provision of these Terms conflicts with a non-waivable law or a controlling Microsoft Store rule, that law or rule controls to the extent of the conflict.
Subject to these Terms, the trial or payment conditions shown in Microsoft Store, and applicable Store rules, GagarinSoft grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Notification Logger on Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices linked to your Store account, for lawful personal or internal business purposes.
Notification Logger is licensed, not sold. GagarinSoft and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. You may not sell, sublicense, rent, lease, redistribute, remove proprietary notices, bypass technical restrictions or licensing controls, or reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits it.
Notification Logger uses the Windows user notification listener to read notifications delivered to your Windows account and saves them in a database stored locally on your device, so that you can view, search, filter, favorite, delete, and export your notification history. The app also offers optional regular-expression search, CSV and JSON export, an optional PIN lock with automatic re-lock, keyword alerts, and a configurable retention period.
You remain responsible for verifying important information against its original source. Do not rely on the app as the only record where accuracy, completeness, or timeliness matters.
Notification Logger records the content of notifications delivered to the Windows account it runs under. That content can include other people’s messages, names, contact details, and other personal data.
You agree to use the app only on devices and Windows accounts you are entitled to use, and only in compliance with applicable law and with any workplace, school, or organizational policy that applies to that device. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consent and giving any notice required by law before recording, retaining, searching, exporting, sharing, or otherwise processing notification content that concerns other people.
If you use the app on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization, and you are responsible, as the controller of the notification data the app stores, for the lawfulness of that processing.
How the app handles notification content, the PIN, keyword lists, settings, and exported files is described in the Notification Logger Privacy Policy. Notification history stays in a database on your device; GagarinSoft does not receive it, and the app does not transmit it to GagarinSoft servers or to third parties.
Because GagarinSoft has no access to that data, GagarinSoft cannot retrieve, restore, export, or delete it for you, and cannot recover a forgotten PIN. The only way to reset a forgotten PIN is to uninstall the app or reset its data in Windows, which also removes the locally stored notification history and settings.
Exported CSV and JSON files leave the app the moment you save them. They may contain the same personal or sensitive content that appeared in your notifications, and you are responsible for how you store, transfer, and share them.
Notification Logger runs on Windows and relies on Microsoft platform components, including the Windows user notification listener, and on third-party user-interface components licensed to GagarinSoft. The licenses of those components apply to them and may grant you additional rights.
Microsoft Store provides acquisition, licensing, billing, updates, and related services. The applications whose notifications you record are independent of GagarinSoft. GagarinSoft does not control and is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security, terms, or privacy practices of Windows, of Microsoft Store, or of any application that sends notifications, and any of them may change, restrict, suspend, or discontinue behavior without notice.
Notification Logger is distributed exclusively through Microsoft Store. A free trial is offered so that you can evaluate the app before paying, and the full version is unlocked by a one-time purchase at the price Microsoft Store displays for your market at the time of the transaction. Trial duration, price, taxes, payment methods, regional availability, and purchase rights are the terms Microsoft Store displays at that moment.
Please use the free trial to confirm that the app works on your device and suits your needs before you buy. None of the above limits the mandatory consumer rights you may have under the law of your place of residence; those rights apply regardless of these Terms.
GagarinSoft may provide updates, change or remove features, change Windows compatibility, or discontinue all or part of Notification Logger. Updates are delivered through Microsoft Store and may be required for continued operation.
Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis at gagarinsoft@gmail.com, without a guaranteed response time, resolution, service level, maintenance period, or continued availability.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NOTIFICATION LOGGER, THE NOTIFICATION HISTORY IT STORES, ITS SEARCH RESULTS, ALERTS, EXPORTS, DOCUMENTATION, UPDATES, AND SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, CONDITIONS, OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND.
GagarinSoft disclaims all express, implied, statutory, and collateral warranties and conditions, including merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, availability, security, compatibility, uninterrupted operation, and error-free operation; that every notification will be captured, recorded in full, or retained; that stored data will be preserved, readable, or recoverable; and that defects will be corrected. No oral or written information creates a warranty that is not expressly stated in these Terms.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions. In that case, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and your non-waivable statutory rights remain unaffected.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GAGARINSOFT AND ITS LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE; LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OPPORTUNITY, CONTRACTS, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION; LOSS, CORRUPTION, DELETION, OR DISCLOSURE OF NOTIFICATION HISTORY, EXPORTED FILES, OR OTHER DATA; MISSED, DELAYED, INCOMPLETE, OR INACCURATE NOTIFICATIONS OR ALERTS; DEVICE OR STORAGE FAILURE; OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS MAY OCCUR.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GagarinSoft’s total aggregate liability arising from or relating to Notification Logger or these Terms will not exceed the amount you actually paid for Notification Logger. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory consumer remedy, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or liability for fraud.
Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using and uninstall Notification Logger. Uninstalling or resetting the app removes its local settings and its notification database, and that removal is permanent; export anything you want to keep first.
Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, the refund provisions above, disclaimers, and liability limits — continue to apply. Access at the Store level may also depend on Microsoft account, payment, device, and usage rules.
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining terms will continue in force. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without GagarinSoft’s consent; GagarinSoft may assign them in connection with a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the product or business, subject to applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the law that applies under mandatory conflict-of-law and consumer-protection rules. Nothing here deprives you of non-waivable rights or of a forum available to you under the law of your place of residence.
GagarinSoft may update these Terms prospectively for legal, security, operational, or product reasons. The effective date is shown at the top of this page, and the current version will remain available here. Where required by law, material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel and will not apply retroactively without a lawful basis.
