This Privacy Policy describes our policies on the collection and use of your information when you use Notification Logger — a Windows 10/11 notification history application developed by GagarinSoft.
The application reads Windows 10/11 notifications and stores notification history in an internal database on your local device. The information stored may include the application name, notification title, notification text, date and time, favorite status, and other content that appears inside notifications.
All notification data is stored in an internal application database on your local device. It is not uploaded to any cloud service or external server.
You can control how long notifications are stored using the "Clean notifications older than _ days" field in the app's Settings. The default retention period is 14 days.
Notifications marked as Favorites are stored indefinitely and will never be automatically deleted. To delete a Favorite notification, you must un-favorite it first.
The app also stores local settings such as language, theme, search options, auto-refresh options, keyword alerts, and privacy lock settings on your device.
Notification Logger includes an optional privacy lock. When enabled, the app asks for your PIN when opening the app.
The PIN is stored in local application settings as a cryptographic hash, not as plain text. The privacy lock is intended to prevent casual access to the app screen.
If you forget your PIN, GagarinSoft cannot recover it. You can reset the PIN by uninstalling the app or resetting the app data in Windows. This also removes the app settings and local notification history stored by the app.
Notification Logger can monitor new notifications for keywords that you configure. Keyword matching is performed locally on your device. Alert keywords are stored in local application settings and are not sent to GagarinSoft servers or third-party services.
When a keyword is found, the app may show a Windows notification to alert you.
You can export your notification history to a file selected by you. The app supports CSV and JSON export formats.
Exported files are created only when you choose to export data. After export, the file is controlled by you and may contain the same personal or sensitive content that appeared in your notifications.
The app does not use third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, cloud sync, or external processing for your notification history. It does not transmit your notification history, notification text, PIN, alert keywords, settings, or exported files outside your PC.
Since the app is distributed via the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect a limited set of diagnostic, installation, purchase, crash, device, and usage information according to Microsoft's own policies. This data is collected by Microsoft, not by GagarinSoft, and is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Policy.
GagarinSoft does not receive your notification history, notification text, PIN, alert keywords, settings, or exported files through this channel.
The GagarinSoft website may use analytics tools to understand website visits and improve the website. Website analytics are separate from the Notification Logger app and do not include your notification history or app data.
You can control Notification Logger data and privacy behavior by changing Windows notification settings, deleting notifications in the app, changing the retention period, marking or unmarking Favorites, disabling keyword alerts, disabling the privacy lock, exporting data when needed, or uninstalling/resetting the app to remove local app data.
