Pin Windows is published by GagarinSoft. This policy explains what the app reads and stores on your PC and what happens when you contact us.

Everything stays on your PC

Pin Windows works entirely on your Windows PC. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no telemetry, and it never sends any data to GagarinSoft or to anyone else.

What the app reads

To show and pin windows, the app reads the titles and process names of the windows open on your PC. A window title can contain personal information, for example a document name or an email subject. This information is shown only inside the app while it runs. It is never stored, logged or transmitted.

The app does not read what is inside your windows and does not take screenshots.

What the app stores on your PC

  • Your preferences (language, theme, keyboard shortcuts, notification and startup choices) in a settings file in your local app data folder.
  • A small recovery file that lists the windows the app has changed (window handle, process id, process start time and window class, but no titles), so that a window can be put back to normal if the app closes unexpectedly. It is deleted when nothing needs restoring.
  • A diagnostics log with technical events, for example “hotkey not registered”. File paths in it are redacted and it contains no window titles.

These files stay on your PC. Uninstalling the app removes them together with the app's data.

Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store handles installation, purchases, the free trial, licensing and app updates. When the app checks whether your licence is a trial or a purchase, Windows asks Microsoft Store; GagarinSoft receives no personal information from this check. Pin Windows does not require a separate account or collect your payment details.

Microsoft processes Store data under its own Privacy Statement.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Support and privacy requests

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request.

Our support mailbox uses Gmail, which is covered by Google's Privacy Policy.

This website

The Pin Windows pages do not use analytics scripts. Our hosting provider processes technical request data to deliver the website. The GagarinSoft website Privacy Policy describes website hosting in more detail.
