The license and conditions that apply when you download or use Text Replacements.
These Terms of Use and End User License Agreement (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and GagarinSoft, the publisher of Text Replacements identified in Microsoft Store. They apply to Text Replacements and to its updates and supplements unless different terms accompany a particular update.
Your acquisition and use of the app are also subject to the applicable Microsoft Store terms, usage rules, account requirements, billing rules, and mandatory consumer protections. If a provision of these Terms conflicts with a non-waivable law or a controlling Microsoft Store rule, that law or rule controls to the extent of the conflict.
Subject to these Terms, the trial or payment conditions shown in Microsoft Store, and applicable Store rules, GagarinSoft grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Text Replacements on Windows devices linked to your Microsoft Store account, for lawful personal or internal business purposes.
Text Replacements is licensed, not sold. GagarinSoft and its licensors retain all rights not expressly granted. You may not sell, sublicense, rent, lease, redistribute, remove proprietary notices, bypass technical restrictions or licensing controls, or reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent applicable law or an open-source license expressly permits it.
Text Replacements is a local Windows 11 utility. While it is running, it watches what you type and, when a recent sequence of characters matches a shortcut you configured, it erases that shortcut and types your replacement text into the application that currently has keyboard focus. Whether an expansion succeeds depends on the target application, its input handling, focus and timing behavior, your keyboard layout, Windows settings, security software, and the privilege level of the foreground window.
You remain responsible for choosing your shortcuts, for reviewing what was inserted before you send, save, or submit it, and for keeping your own copies of snippets you cannot afford to lose. Use the trial period shown in Microsoft Store to confirm that the app behaves as you expect in the applications you rely on.
To work system-wide, Text Replacements installs low-level Windows keyboard and mouse hooks while it is running and keeps a short in-memory buffer of recently typed characters so it can recognize your shortcuts. This processing happens entirely on your device.
Text Replacements is designed not to expand snippets into password fields. It queries Windows UI Automation to detect protected input, blocks the replacement when that check fails or times out, and blocks replacement in a list of known credential, password-manager, and Windows sign-in applications.
These safeguards rely on information that other applications expose to Windows and cannot be guaranteed. An application that does not mark a field as protected, a custom or web-based control, a remote session, or an unusual input path may not be detected. If you are entering passwords, recovery codes, payment data, health data, or other highly sensitive information, pause Text Replacements from the app window, the tray menu, or the global pause shortcut, or close the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GagarinSoft is not responsible for text inserted into any field as a result of your configuration or of a detection limitation.
Your shortcuts, replacement text, and imported or exported snippet files are yours. GagarinSoft claims no ownership of them, does not receive them, and does not moderate them.
You agree not to use Text Replacements to insert unlawful, infringing, harassing, deceptive, or malicious content; to impersonate another person or organization; to interfere with, automate, or manipulate a service in breach of its terms; to capture another person's input; or to install the app on a device you do not control or are not authorized to configure. You are responsible for complying with the laws, employer policies, and workplace or educational rules that apply to your device and to the content you insert.
How the app handles snippets, keyboard processing, settings, local diagnostic logs, and Microsoft Store information is described in the Text Replacements Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Text Replacements is distributed and sold exclusively through Microsoft Store. The trial duration, price, currency, taxes, accepted payment methods, regional availability, purchase rights, and cancellation rights are the terms that Microsoft Store displays to you at the time of the transaction.
Any refund entitlement you have therefore comes from the Microsoft Store terms or from mandatory consumer-protection law, and your non-waivable statutory rights remain unaffected. Because GagarinSoft cannot reverse a Store purchase, please use the free trial period shown in Microsoft Store to confirm that Text Replacements works on your device and with the applications you use before you buy.
GagarinSoft may publish updates, change or remove features, change system requirements or compatibility, or discontinue all or part of Text Replacements. Updates are delivered through Microsoft Store and may be required for continued operation. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis at gagarinsoft@gmail.com, without a guaranteed response time, resolution, service level, maintenance period, or continued availability.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TEXT REPLACEMENTS, ITS RESULTS, DOCUMENTATION, UPDATES, AND SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, CONDITIONS, OR REPRESENTATIONS OF ANY KIND.
GagarinSoft disclaims all express, implied, statutory, and collateral warranties and conditions, including merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, security, compatibility with any particular application, uninterrupted or error-free operation, correct or complete text insertion, detection of every protected or sensitive field, preservation of snippet data, and that defects will be corrected. No oral or written information creates a warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions. In that case, the exclusions apply only to the extent permitted, and your non-waivable statutory rights remain unaffected.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, GAGARINSOFT AND ITS LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE; LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, OPPORTUNITY, CONTRACTS, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION; LOST, CORRUPTED, INCORRECTLY INSERTED, OR DISCLOSED TEXT OR DATA; MESSAGES, DOCUMENTS, OR FORMS SENT WITH UNINTENDED CONTENT; DEVICE OR APPLICATION FAILURE; OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH LOSS MAY OCCUR.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GagarinSoft's total aggregate liability arising from or relating to Text Replacements or these Terms will not exceed the amount you actually paid for Text Replacements. This limitation does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under any mandatory consumer remedy.
Your license ends automatically if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination you must stop using and uninstall Text Replacements; your local snippet files remain on your device until you delete them. Provisions that by their nature should survive — including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and general terms — continue to apply. Store-level access also depends on Microsoft account, payment, device, and usage rules.
If part of these Terms is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining terms will continue in force. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without GagarinSoft's consent; GagarinSoft may assign them in connection with a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the product or business, subject to applicable law. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the applicable Microsoft Store terms are the entire agreement about the app.
These Terms are governed by the law that applies under mandatory conflict-of-law and consumer-protection rules. Nothing here deprives you of non-waivable rights or of a forum available under the law of your place of residence.
GagarinSoft may update these Terms prospectively for legal, security, operational, or product reasons. The effective date will be shown above. Where required by law, material changes will be communicated through an appropriate channel and will not apply retroactively without a lawful basis.
