ONLINE PROCTORED EXAM: TECH CHECKLIST Your exam's own rules and your proctoring provider's instructions come first. If anything below conflicts with them, follow the exam's rules. Several days before [ ] Find the system test your exam uses (in your exam program's or provider's instructions). [ ] Run it on the same computer and the same network you will use on exam day. [ ] Read what the exam allows: headphones, second screen, paper, breaks, VPN. [ ] Use a personal computer if your exam advises against work computers. The day before [ ] Install pending updates and restart the computer. [ ] Run the provider's system test again and fix anything it flags. [ ] Check the camera image: facing forward, at eye level, head and shoulders in view. [ ] Check the light on your face: light in front of you, not behind you. [ ] Speak at normal volume and check that the intended microphone responds. [ ] Check that Windows plays sound through the speakers your exam allows. [ ] Check the connection on the exam network; use a cable if you can. [ ] Disconnect the VPN or proxy if your exam does not allow it. [ ] Prepare the room and desk as your exam's rules describe. [ ] Keep your photo ID ready. 30 minutes before (start earlier if check-in opens 30 minutes before) [ ] Plug the laptop into power. [ ] Close the CallReady window, then right-click its tray icon and select Exit. [ ] Close Teams, Zoom, browser tabs with a camera, and every other app. [ ] Make sure no one else on the network is streaming or downloading. [ ] Disconnect extra monitors and devices your exam does not allow. [ ] Clear the desk as your exam's rules require. [ ] Launch only the exam software and follow its check-in steps. During the exam [ ] Do not open other apps, including CallReady. [ ] If something fails, follow your provider's instructions and contact its support.
